Lowry McFerrin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mactec Solutions, Inc., dba ProForma Mactec Solutions, a company that provides printed and promotional products and services to small to midsize businesses through a franchised organization.
Prior to his current position, he served as Vice President-Distributor Sales and Service for a privately-held barcode and tape seal product manufacturer and as a member of its Board of Directors. He was responsible for creating, managing and expanding programs to support and service a global network of agent/value-added resellers that generated annual sales of $10 million. He coordinated the development of new label products to address a $3.5 million opportunity in the Automotive Industry. Additionally, he was jointly responsible for evaluating, planning and managing aggressive trade show schedules – including booth design, site selection, collateral creation and related sales and promotional activity.
He created a National Accounts Program that identified key customers, direct or reseller, established them as accounts, addressed their sales and technical support requirements, and co-designed a comprehensive sales training and collateral system to expedite Sales’ responsiveness to these accounts – which included several Fortune 500 companies. This resulted in reducing the sales training cycle from 3 years to eight months. Under his management, National Accounts’ annual sales grew from $600M to $2MM within two years.
Lowry was actively involved with the Automatic Identifier Manufacturers (AIM) trade association, chairing the Print Quality Committee and the Membership Committee. As a member of AIM’s speaker bureau, he spoke to several industry chapter associations on image quality and options for bar codes production as well as the association’s industry trade show. He was a featured author in the industry trade magazines.
He received his A.A. Degree in Journalism, B.A. Degree in English and is working to complete his M.B.A. He is also a licensed masseur, a performing fiddle player and one hell of a good swimmer for his age.
